Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

The Assistant Financial Controller supports the Financial Controller in ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance for Rotork's Manchester factory. This role plays a key part in risk management, audit coordination, and the maintenance of strong accounting controls within a global manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports on schedule.
• Assist with statutory reporting, applying local accounting knowledge.
• Contribute to fixed‑asset impairment analysis in partnership with the BPO team.
• Advise stakeholders on accounting impacts of major capital investments.
• Monitor and remediate control deficiencies to sustain effective accounting policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, liaising with auditors and supplying documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and statutory reporting requirements.
• Oversee physical asset tagging and verification where required.
• Support local payment processes that must be executed within the market.

Required profile

• University degree or equivalent.
• Member of a professional accounting body (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA, OROC, OCC) or MBA.
• Proven experience in a technical finance role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience reviewing statutory financial reports and local reporting requirements.
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) financial systems.
• Familiarity with OneStream reporting platform.
