Assistant Gas Engineer

About the role

This site‑based position offers a hands‑on introduction to gas engineering within a well‑established UK energy and engineering organisation. It is ideal for candidates with a practical background, including ex‑military personnel, who are looking to start a long‑term engineering career.

Key responsibilities

• Support qualified engineers with the installation, maintenance and servicing of gas systems and related equipment.
• Assist with inspections, safety checks and compliance documentation.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and organised manner.
• Accurately complete job records and documentation.
• Contribute to day‑to‑day operational activities across the site.

Required profile

• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn.
• Excellent awareness of health and safety procedures.
• Reliable, adaptable and able to work well within a team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Previous experience in engineering, mechanical maintenance, logistics, facilities management, utilities or a military environment is advantageous.
