Assistant Greenkeeper

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Greenkeeper to work alongside our experienced and dedicated team at Lymm Golf Club. The role involves maintaining the aesthetic quality of the award‑winning course and supporting renovation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular daily maintenance of tees, greens, bunkers and fairways.
• Operate mowing and turf‑care equipment, including hand and power tools.
• Apply top dressing, fertilisers and pest‑control chemicals as directed.
• Assist in course renovations and improvement projects.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify areas needing attention.

Required profile

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong work ethic with a positive, can‑do attitude.
• Good time‑management and flexibility for weekend work.
• Ability to work unsupervised and display a professional approach.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and perform physical tasks.
• Previous experience in greenkeeping or turf management.
• Experience using and maintaining greenkeeping machinery.
• Understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Chainsaw operation (cross‑cutting and felling) licences.
• Spraying certifications – PA1, PA2, PA6.
• NVQ Level 2 in Greenkeeping / Sports turf management.
• Operation of mowing and turf‑care equipment.
