Assistant Maintenance Engineer – £38,500 + Overtime & Bonus

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Maintenance Engineer to join a market‑leading manufacturing business at its highly automated production facility in Bletchley. You will receive structured training and a clear progression route to become a fully qualified Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on state‑of‑the‑art production machinery.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests, breakdowns and fault‑finding tasks.
• Support continuous improvement projects aimed at increasing plant reliability and efficiency.
• Work closely with the engineering team on both day and night shifts (12‑hour continental pattern).

Required profile

• Mechanical or electrical engineering background.
• Minimum NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 Engineering qualification.
• Relevant experience in UK manufacturing, industrial production or the Armed Forces (REME, Army, Navy, RAF).
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
