Assistant Management Accountant – Crewe

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join our head office in Crewe. Working alongside an experienced Management Accountant, you will gain exposure to a complex commercial operation and develop the skills needed for a senior finance career.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Assist with journals, accruals, pre‑payments and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Analyse stock movements, costs, margins and overall business performance.
• Help report on trading activity and profitability.
• Maintain strong financial controls and month‑end processes.
• Assist with year‑end audit preparation.
• Manage the company’s foreign‑currency forward contract position, recording and reconciling FX deals.
• Match currency contracts to underlying purchases and sales and monitor maturity dates and exposure levels.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and a commercial mindset.
• Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance and senior stakeholders.

• Salary up to £33,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Office‑based role with standard 9:00 am – 5:15 pm hours.
