Assistant Management Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Assistant Management Accountant to join our Group Finance team. This role is ideal for a part‑qualified professional or someone actively studying towards an accounting qualification who wants to gain experience in a large, complex organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Post accurate and complete journals to the general ledger
• Complete balance‑sheet and bank account reconciliations
• Support the production of accurate and timely financial reporting
• Assist with the preparation of regulatory returns
• Review and raise payments through online banking systems
• Contribute to improvements in financial controls and governance
• Prepare financial information for HMRC annual tax returns
• Produce regular insurer and office bank account reconciliations
• Respond to queries from internal teams
• Provide year‑end information for external auditors and support audit query resolution
• Participate in projects aimed at reducing the month‑end cycle and standardising processes
• Support the wider Finance team with additional duties as required

Required profile

• Experience supporting month‑end, financial reporting or management accounting processes
• Methodical approach with strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise conflicting requirements and meet deadlines
• Good communication skills and confidence working with colleagues across the business
• Part‑qualified status or active study towards AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
