Assistant Management Accountant

About the role

Ambition Europe Limited is seeking an ambitious and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join its busy Finance team in London. This full‑time position offers the chance to develop a professional accounting qualification while working in a dynamic professional services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, pre‑payments, bad‑debt provisions, fixed‑asset accounting and loan schedules.
• Review and analyse profit and loss reports, providing commentary and insights.
• Support coding and processing of purchase invoices and expenses.
• Produce departmental management account packs and assist budget holders in reviewing expenditure against budget.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and deliver ad‑hoc financial analysis for senior finance management.
• Assist external auditors during the annual audit and review monthly payment runs for accurate coding and authorisation.
• Process inter‑office recharges, prepare debit notes, and assist with quarterly VAT return preparation.
• Support the annual budgeting process, attend budget meetings and maintain financial models and schedules.

Required profile

• A‑Levels, AAT or equivalent qualification and a degree.
• Currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).
• Approximately two years’ finance experience, preferably in legal, professional services or audit environments.
• Strong general‑ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with Elite 3E or a similar practice‑management system is advantageous.
