Assistant Management Accountant

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a CIMA/ACCA part‑qualified professional, or someone currently working towards their qualification, to join a successful and expanding business operating within the manufacturing sector. Reporting into the Senior Management Accountant, you will provide essential support to the wider finance team, helping to deliver timely and accurate financial information, contribute to management reporting, and support the business with informed financial and commercial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly and year‑end management accounts, ensuring all reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Support the Senior Management Accountant with budgeting, forecasting, and wider financial planning activities.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies or unusual movements.
• Prepare detailed variance analysis and provide clear commentary around financial and operational results.
• Produce management information and reports to support senior management and leadership discussions.
• Support the month‑end close process, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
• Ensure financial data and records remain accurate and up to date, in line with company policies and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, systems, and management reporting.
• Assist with wider finance team activities and provide support on ad‑hoc projects when required.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or studying towards CIMA or ACCA (or motivated to begin a professional accounting qualification).
• Previous experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or Finance Assistant role.
• Eligibility to work in the UK full time without restriction.
