Assistant Management Accountant – Up to £35k + Study Support

About the role

Axon Moore Group Ltd is partnering with a market‑leading organisation to hire an Assistant Management Accountant for its UK Finance team in Warrington. This full‑time position offers broad exposure to financial accounting, treasury, reporting and month‑end activities, making it ideal for an ambitious professional studying towards CIMA or ACCA.

Key responsibilities

• Compile and process weekly and monthly payroll journals, including burden postings.
• Support month‑end close activities and manage internal hire postings.
• Prepare and post cost recharges, commercial journals and intercompany invoicing.
• Process and reconcile daily banking transactions and perform regular bank and control account reconciliations.
• Assist with cash‑flow monitoring, cash transfer requests and group cash reporting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT returns and handle treasury‑related queries.
• Support internal and external audit processes, balance‑sheet and intercompany reconciliations.
• Produce aged debtors/creditors reports and contribute to ONS reporting submissions.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and support finance transformation activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance support role.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across finance, accounts payable and receivable teams.
• Motivation to develop a career in accounting and pursue professional qualifications.
