Assistant Manager – Hospitality

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Manager to join The Hawthorns, a leading retirement village community, delivering exceptional hospitality to residents and visitors. In this full‑time, onsite position you will support the Head Chef and lead a team to ensure high‑quality service at every meal and throughout the village.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests and residents, acting as the face of The Hawthorns.
• Organise and supervise the hospitality team, ensuring each role is performed to the highest standard.
• Drive sales and marketing opportunities within the village.
• Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to maintain service excellence during meal service.
• Provide training, guidance and performance feedback to team members.

Required profile

• Minimum two years’ experience in hospitality or guest services, preferably at a supervisory or managerial level.
• Strong organisational abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable.

Required skills

• Leadership and team‑management experience.
• Customer‑service orientation.
