Assistant Manager – Retail Store

About the role

Farmfoods is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the shop manager at its Annan store. This full‑time, permanent position works a 43‑hour week across five days, including at least one weekend shift, and offers a competitive salary and extensive employee benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the shop manager to ensure efficient store operations and excellent customer service.
• Develop and coach retail assistants through mentoring, feedback, and performance reviews.
• Take charge of the shop in the manager’s absence, overseeing customer care, deliveries, and daily routines to maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll, by motivating the team.
• Assist with recruitment, induction, and training of new staff members.

Required profile

• Friendly, positive, and hardworking attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
• Reliability and trustworthiness as a key member of a small team.
• Previous experience in a managerial, team‑lead, or supervisory role.
• Willingness to undergo a Basic DBS or Disclosure Scotland check.
