Assistant Manager – Retail Store (Southampton)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join a rapidly expanding market‑leading retail store in Southampton. Reporting to the Store Manager, you will help drive turnover, manage a strong team and ensure the store meets its financial and service targets.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of a department and act as Duty Manager in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Support the Store Manager in achieving KPI targets, including sales, wages, wastage and shrinkage.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of store presentation, stock control and compliance.
• Ensure health and safety policies are followed and use management information to make strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Comfortable working on the shop floor rather than in an office.
• Strong operational, leadership, planning and organisational abilities.
• Target‑driven, customer‑focused and highly motivated.
