Assistant Manager – Retail (UK)

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Manager to join a fast‑growing UK retailer. You will support the Store Manager in delivering sales, controlling shrinkage, and ensuring operational excellence in a high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of a department and act as Duty Manager when required.
• Support the Store Manager in meeting KPIs such as sales, shrinkage, and wage control.
• Drive exceptional customer service and foster team engagement.
• Oversee stock control, merchandising, and compliance standards.
• Ensure Health & Safety procedures are consistently followed.
• Analyse store data to identify improvement and growth opportunities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or similar role in a fast‑paced retail setting.
• Hands‑on leader who thrives on the shop floor and motivates others.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities.
• Passionate about customer service and achieving targets.
• Proactive attitude with ambition to progress to Store Manager.
