Assistant Manager – Temporary (Learning Disabilities Adult Day Service)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to provide temporary cover for a Learning Disabilities Adult Day Service in Ringwood, Hampshire. Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help oversee daily operations, coordinate activities and ensure high‑quality, person‑centred support for service users.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager in day‑to‑day service delivery.
• Coordinate schedules, activities, staffing allocations and service provision.
• Lead, guide and supervise the care staff team.
• Maintain high standards of care and monitor staff performance.
• Assist with rota management, workforce planning and service organisation.
• Promote a positive, inclusive, person‑centred culture.
• Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with service users, families, staff and external professionals.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Care Coordinator or similar operational management role within adult social care.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise staff teams.
• Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities.
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities in a busy service.
• Good knowledge of safeguarding, person‑centred care and relevant care standards.

Required skills

• Full UK driving licence (desirable).
• Access to own vehicle (desirable).
• Relevant Health and Social Care qualification Level 3 or above (desirable).

What we offer

• £17.70 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
• Full‑time hours (40 hrs/week) for up to 10 weeks.
