Assistant Night Manager

About the role

The Assistant Night Manager supports the Night Manager in delivering a seamless overnight operation at the Royal National Hotel, the UK’s largest hotel with over 1,600 rooms. Working a 44‑hour weekly rota (4 nights on, 3 nights off) you will help ensure guest satisfaction and smooth hand‑over to the morning team.

Key responsibilities

• Deputise for the Night Manager and lead a team of 15+ night receptionists and porters.
• Oversee all hotel operations during the night shift, maintaining high service standards.
• Prepare and hand over financial information, KPI targets and night audit reports to the Front Office Management team.
• Conduct regular health and safety checks and manage emergency procedures and evacuations.
• Address incidents promptly while minimising disruption to guests and operations.
• Lead by example, ensuring the night team delivers an exceptional guest journey from check‑in to check‑out.
• Recruit, train and develop night‑shift staff to uphold the hotel’s reputation.

Required profile

• Previous operational experience as a Night Manager or senior front‑of‑house supervisor/manager in a hotel.
• Strong passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Ability to manage a large team and maintain high standards under pressure.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Commitment to health, safety and security protocols.
