About the role
The Assistant Pathway Coordinator will join the administrative team within the Cancer Directorate, supporting patient journeys and clinical teams. This full‑time position offers comprehensive training and the chance to develop skills for future NHS leadership roles.
Key responsibilities
- Make and manage patient appointments.
- Handle queries from patients, carers and clinicians.
- Liaise with the wider administrative team and clinical staff.
- Manage waiting lists in line with the Elective Access Policy.
- Communicate appointment and admission information to patients and carers.
- Type and process correspondence as required.

- Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Team‑player attitude with a willingness to learn.
- Commitment to delivering high‑quality patient care.
