Assistant Production Coordinator

About the role

Our client is seeking an Assistant Production Coordinator to support the day‑to‑day running of their manufacturing operation. Working closely with the Production Coordinator, you will help ensure production targets, quality standards, safety requirements and efficiency goals are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Support the coordination of daily production activities and manufacturing schedules.
• Supervise and support Production Team Leaders and Operators.
• Monitor production output, efficiency, quality, OEE and downtime.
• Complete production data input and maintain accurate reports and KPIs.
• Coordinate manpower, materials and equipment to maximise productivity.
• Investigate production issues and support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Work closely with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Laboratory and Warehouse teams.
• Support continuous improvement, waste reduction and efficiency initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, quality and company procedures.
• Act as Production Coordinator during periods of absence.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Supervisory or team‑leadership experience.
• Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Good communication skills.
• Confidence working with production data and Microsoft Office, including Access databases.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and quality management systems (advantageous).
