Assistant Production Manager – Food Manufacturing

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced production leader to join a modern, fast‑paced food manufacturing business. You will be responsible for driving production performance, ensuring quality and safety standards, and leading continuous improvement across a 42‑hour shift.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the production team to meet daily output targets and quality standards.
• Produce accurate ERP reports for production, materials, and finished goods.
• Manage warehouse returns, material reconciliation and monitor KPIs such as OEE, waste, downtime and output.
• Drive Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S, across the shift.
• Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and health & safety compliance.
• Prepare for internal and external audits by keeping thorough production documentation.
• Oversee attendance, performance, discipline and development of production staff.
• Foster a positive, high‑performance culture focused on teamwork and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Production Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage production teams.
• Experience in the FMCG or food manufacturing sector is desirable.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits.
