Assistant Project Manager

About the role

Our client, a leading design and manufacturing company for construction and building services equipment, is expanding its Contracts Management team. They are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support project delivery from order receipt through to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects on time and within budget, overseeing the full lifecycle from order to handover.
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Review contractual and commercial requirements, including health and safety obligations.
• Oversee the design process to meet client specifications and CDM regulations.
• Attend meetings with customers and suppliers, acting as a liaison.
• Monitor project spend, flagging potential issues to the contracts team.
• Communicate progress to stakeholders and maintain project documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a project‑related role within mechanical, electrical, building services or construction.
• Relevant safety training such as SMSTS, IOSH and a CSCS card (manager level preferred).
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Based within a commutable distance of Hertford.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

What we offer

• Salary between £30,000 and £45,000 per year, dependent on experience.
