Assistant Psychologist

About the role

The Nook Therapy Clinic, a specialist healthcare provider for children, young people and families affected by mental health, autism and ADHD, is looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join its Oxford team. The position is permanent, full‑time and offers a hybrid working pattern with some days working from home.

Key responsibilities

• Assist qualified psychologists in delivering psychological assessments and interventions under supervision.
• Conduct parent interviews for autism (ADI‑R) and related assessments.
• Administer autism and ADHD screening tools.
• Produce professional assessment and intervention reports.
• Support training initiatives and contribute to service development.
• Undertake research activities such as audits and literature reviews.
• Receive weekly clinical supervision from a Clinical Psychologist.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently within agreed supervisory limits.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with service users, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to compassionate, respectful care.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training and CPD.

Required skills

• Administration of ADI‑R interviews.
• Conducting ACE interviews.
• Use of autism and ADHD screening instruments.
• Research skills for audits and literature reviews.
• Report writing for assessments and interventions.

• Salary between £25,147 and £27,596 per year.
