Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Cambridge

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Cambridge team. This is a full‑time position offering hands‑on experience across residential, commercial and industrial projects, with support from senior surveyors.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with cost planning, budgeting and feasibility studies for new developments.
• Support procurement activities, including tender preparation and contractor engagement.
• Help with contract administration, primarily under JCT contracts.
• Monitor project costs, variations and produce financial reports.
• Contribute to valuations, interim payments and final accounts.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

Required profile

• Degree qualified (or studying) in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline.
• Some experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or relevant placement.
• Basic understanding of JCT contracts and commercial processes.
• Aiming to achieve MRICS chartership.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
