Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Temp-to-Perm

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well‑established construction and infrastructure business on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. The role supports the commercial team in delivering projects from inception to completion, helping to keep costs under control and contracts on track.

Key responsibilities

• Support cost reporting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with subcontract procurement and administration.
• Prepare valuations, payment applications and variation documents.
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance.
• Contribute to monthly reporting and commercial documentation.
• Build relationships with site teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support contract management and change‑control processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or in a similar commercial role.
• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience in construction, utilities, infrastructure or a comparable project environment.
• Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability and proactive attitude.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with the Microsoft Office suite.
