Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Temp to Perm

About the role

The client is a well‑established construction and infrastructure business seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on a temporary‑to‑permanent basis. You will join the commercial team to support the delivery of projects from inception through completion, helping to keep costs under control and schedules on track.

Key responsibilities

• Support cost reporting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with subcontract procurement and administration.
• Prepare valuations, payment applications and variations.
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance.
• Help produce monthly commercial reports and documentation.
• Build relationships with site teams, clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support contract management and change‑control processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
• A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience within construction, utilities, infrastructure or a similar project environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
