Assistant Service Manager

About the role

Avenues Group is seeking an Assistant Service Manager to support two Bromley locations – Widmore Road and Gable Mews. You will work closely with the Service Manager to lead a team delivering high‑quality support for adults with learning disabilities, autism, challenging behaviours and epilepsy.

Key responsibilities

• Motivate and inspire staff through training, coaching and leading by example.
• Provide up to 16 hours of weekly administrative support, including rota creation, staff recruitment, shift leading and record‑keeping.
• Deliver 24‑hour hands‑on care such as personal care, cooking, cleaning and medication administration.
• Ensure health, safety and wellbeing of service users.
• Manage rostering, support plans, staff deployment and budgets.
• Maintain compliance with sector regulatory bodies and legislation.
• Promote person‑centred approaches and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence preferred (not essential).
• Strong administrative abilities and experience managing staff.
• Commitment to health, safety and inclusive community links.
• Ability to build effective internal and external relationships.
• Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support framework is advantageous.
