Assistant Site Manager – Construction (East London)

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join a Tier 2 main contractor on a new‑build industrial scheme in East London. The contract runs for approximately 6‑9 months, supporting the Project Manager in overseeing subcontractors, health & safety, and quality on site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise subcontractors on the site.
• Conduct quality inspections and approve workmanship.
• Ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with the Site Manager and other team members to keep the project on schedule.
• Motivate and lead site personnel to achieve project goals.
• Liaise with the project team to resolve on‑site issues.
• Report progress and performance to the Site Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience with main contractors on new‑build schemes.
• Valid CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid certificates.
• Background either from a trades route or a construction‑related degree.
