Assistant Site Manager – Construction Projects

About the role

Lovell is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support its Partnerships team in Somerset. You will work closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure refurbishment and regeneration projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day site activities and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor progress against programme targets and manage quality control.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers, residents, and external stakeholders such as Building Control and statutory authorities.
• Support cost control, ensure compliance with NHBC standards and Building Regulations.
• Champion health, safety and environmental best practice on site.
• Assist in preparing reports and updating project documentation.

Required profile

• Experience in refurbishment, planned maintenance or housing construction.
• Good understanding of construction processes, trade practice and health‑and‑safety requirements.
• Ability to build positive relationships with subcontractors, clients and residents.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Power Project software.
• Experience using Project Plus.
• Familiarity with COINS ERP systems.
