Assistant Site Manager

About the role

As an Assistant Site Manager you will support the delivery of refurbishment and planned maintenance projects, ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to the highest standards. You will work closely with the Site Manager and operational team to drive quality, customer satisfaction and commercial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in day‑to‑day operational delivery of planned work contracts and ensure contractual KPIs are met.
• Check quality of work against building regulations and oversee internal and external works such as cyclical works, K&B upgrades, new windows, doors, scaffolding and work at height.
• Support management and monitoring of the work programme through site visits, WIP/post‑inspections and ensure resources are adequate.
• Maintain regular communication with the line manager on site progress and flag any issues that may affect the programme.
• Assist in managing sub‑contractors, ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations, Mears SOPs, CDM and quality standards.
• Collect and collate evidence to demonstrate compliance with health & safety and quality requirements.

Required profile

• SSSTS certification.
• Valid driving licence.
• Experience in managing, monitoring and reporting health & safety compliance.
• Good technical knowledge of internal or external refurbishment works.
• Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with residents, clients and subcontractors.
