Assistant Stock Controller

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established food manufacturing business in Harlow that needs an organised and analytical Assistant Stock Controller. You will support the Senior Stock Controller and Finance team to maintain accurate inventory across multiple sites and help keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out daily stock checks and perpetual inventory reviews
• Audit vehicle dispatches and book deliveries across several sites
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and queries
• Monitor stock exception reports and manage part pallets
• Process cancelled orders, customer returns and proof‑of‑delivery documentation
• Close production orders and assist with monthly stock takes at three locations
• Produce reports on stock variances and monitor best‑before dates to minimise waste
• Support internal and external audits

Required profile

• Previous experience in stock control, inventory or warehouse administration
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
• Ability to manage own workload and prioritise effectively
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle

• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft 365
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP (advantageous but not essential)
