Assistant Store Manager – Retail Leadership

About the role

As an Assistant Store Manager at Specsavers in Hoddesdon, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations and deliver exceptional eye and hearing care to the community. The role combines hands‑on retail leadership with the opportunity to develop expertise in optics.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in overseeing store performance, stock control and visual merchandising.
• Lead, coach and schedule the retail team to maintain high customer service standards.
• Drive sales targets and commercial awareness through proactive selling and promotions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and optical standards.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues with a customer‑first mindset.

Required profile

• Previous experience managing a team in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Commercially minded with a positive attitude.
• Attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to changing demands.
• Passion for delivering excellent customer service.
• Experience in optics is desirable but not essential.
