Assistant Store Manager – Retail Operations

About the role

The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in daily operations, helping the store meet sales targets and maintain JD's high standards. This role combines leadership on the shop floor with hands‑on operational duties in a fast‑paced sports‑fashion environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with daily store operations to achieve sales targets and core KPIs.
• Lead and guide colleagues on the shop floor, allocating tasks and ensuring JD standards are upheld.
• Provide real‑time coaching, feedback, and development support to team members.
• Maintain presentation, pricing accuracy, tidy displays, and a safe environment.
• Perform core operational duties such as cash handling support, till checks, delivery processing, stock audits, and opening/closing routines, escalating issues as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a retail management or supervisory role (Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor).
• Strong leadership ability to guide, develop, and motivate staff.
• Comfort interpreting KPI and sales data to inform commercial decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of driving sales performance and meeting KPIs.
