Assistant Team Manager – Mental Health

About the role
We are looking for an Assistant Team Manager to support the Mental Health Team in Tameside. You will work closely with the Team Manager to ensure high‑quality social care services are delivered in line with legislation and local priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Team Manager in leading the team and overseeing daily operations.
- Contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement based on user feedback and performance data.
- Ensure services comply with all relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
- Support the development of staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Level 6 Social Work degree.
- Specialised training in service‑area legislation, management, HR and safety procedures.
- Extensive experience in mental health services, including knowledge of the Care Act and related funding/legal frameworks.
- Proven experience in staff and practice supervision.
- Strong competencies in resource management, process improvement and relationship building.
