Assistant Underwriter – Energy

About the role

This position offers an ambitious professional the chance to join a high‑performing Energy underwriting team within a leading Lloyd's syndicate. You will work side‑by‑side with experienced underwriters, gaining exposure to a complex global Energy portfolio from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Support Underwriters in the day‑to‑day management of the Energy portfolio.
• Enter risk data, perform rating and manage exposure.
• Liaise with brokers to build and maintain strong market relationships.
• Produce portfolio reports and assist with business planning.
• Collaborate with Underwriting Support to ensure high data quality.
• Develop technical knowledge of Energy underwriting in the Lloyd's market.

Required profile

• Approximately 18 months or more experience in the London market as an Underwriting Assistant, Technician or similar role.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
• Proactive attitude with a genuine desire to build a long‑term underwriting career.
• Interest in the Energy insurance market.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
