Assistant Vice President – Java Developer, Technology Application Strategy

About the role

Citi is looking for an Assistant Vice President to join its Technology Application Strategy team in London. You will design, build and deliver tooling that improves the developer experience across the bank, working with a globally distributed group of technologists.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Java and SpringBoot micro‑services on Linux/OpenShift to support internal developer tools.
• Design and implement APIs that integrate with a variety of banking systems.
• Participate across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and coding to testing, deployment and support.
• Act as a trusted consultant for developers worldwide, guiding onboarding and tool adoption.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise to senior stakeholders and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Strong background in Java development and building micro‑service architectures.
• Experience delivering production‑grade solutions in a large, regulated financial environment.
• Ability to collaborate with distributed teams and communicate technical concepts clearly.
