Assistant Warehouse Manager

About the role

Join BSS as an Assistant Warehouse Manager (Warehouse Supervisor) in our busy Glasgow warehouse. You will support the Warehouse Manager in keeping the operation safe, efficient and organised while leading a dedicated team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Warehouse Manager with day‑to‑day warehouse operations and provide guidance to the team.
• Allocate and prioritise workloads to ensure orders are picked, checked and dispatched accurately and on time.
• Control order flow, monitor outstanding and priority orders, and resolve issues promptly.
• Collaborate with the Sales Team to clarify order requirements and meet customer expectations.
• Coordinate with drivers to load vehicles correctly and dispatch on schedule.
• Oversee receipt, checking and storage of incoming goods and support stock control.
• Investigate missing, damaged or incorrect products and escalate significant issues.
• Maintain high standards of warehouse organisation, housekeeping and stock accuracy.
• Support training and development of colleagues, fostering teamwork and accountability.
• Lead by example in health and safety, reporting hazards, near‑misses and incidents.
• Identify and implement improvements to processes, order accuracy and delivery efficiency.
• Keep records up to date and ensure relevant systems are maintained.
