Associate Building Surveyor

About the role

Kenton Black International is seeking an experienced Associate Building Surveyor to join its growing Leeds office. The role covers Yorkshire and may involve occasional international travel, offering a clear pathway to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Asset capture & lifecycle surveys – record and grade building fabric assets, providing remedial recommendations.
• Latent defect surveys – assess buildings nearing the end of construction contracts.
• Accessible ceiling inspections – grade assets located above ceiling voids.
• Project delivery – ensure high‑quality technical surveying services are delivered on time.
• Contract administration – manage documentation, compliance checks and contractor coordination.
• Client & stakeholder liaison – maintain effective communication with clients.
• Coaching and mentoring – develop junior staff and grow the team.
• Business development – prepare bids and tenders for CIF frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial Building Surveyor.
• Leadership mindset with a desire to progress to senior management.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to business development.
