Associate Clinical Negligence Solicitor – Leeds

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join a leading national law firm’s Health Litigation team in Leeds. The role involves defending clinical negligence claims for public‑sector and healthcare clients, offering a mix of complex casework and opportunities for professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of defended clinical negligence claims.
• Draft reports, witness statements and other court documents.
• Interview witnesses and instruct experts and counsel.
• Attend case management conferences, application hearings and trials.
• Negotiate settlements and conduct mediations.
• Support secondments to key healthcare clients and assist with high‑value claims.
• Deliver client training, presentations and contribute to client communications.
• Participate in business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (SRA or CILEx route).
• Experience in clinical negligence defence preferred, though not essential.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid environment.
• Strong organisational, communication and drafting abilities.
• Attention to detail and awareness of client data security requirements.
• Proactive, pragmatic and quality‑focused approach.
