Associate – Contentious Construction (0‑5 PQE)

About the role

We are partnering with an elite City law firm to recruit a 0‑5 PQE Associate specialising in contentious construction and arbitration. The successful candidate will join a growing team recognised for handling complex, large‑scale international disputes across engineering, power, rail, chemical and offshore sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and advise on high‑value construction disputes and arbitration matters.
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, witness statements and arbitration submissions.
• Liaise with clients, experts and third‑party counsel on multi‑jurisdictional cases.
• Support senior partners in case strategy, risk assessment and settlement negotiations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of construction law developments and industry standards.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with 0‑5 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Training and experience at a top US, Magic or Silver Circle law firm.
• Demonstrated experience on large international construction disputes.
• Strong analytical and drafting abilities.
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction law, arbitration rules and dispute resolution procedures.
