Associate Director – Accountant (Leadership Role)

About the role

Our client, a growing accountancy practice in Milton Keynes, is seeking an Associate Director – Accountant to join the leadership team just below the Managing Director. The role combines client advisory, tax expertise and team leadership to drive the firm’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a portfolio of corporate and personal clients as a trusted advisor.
• Provide corporate and personal tax advisory services.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand existing relationships.
• Oversee work‑in‑progress, recoverability, billing and fee budgeting.
• Lead, mentor and develop managers and senior staff.
• Support strategic planning, operational improvements and firm‑wide initiatives.
• Drive innovation and improve client experience through technology and new ways of working.

Required profile

• ACCA and/or CTA qualified.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong corporate and personal tax knowledge.
• Proven advisory and business‑development experience.
• Commercial experience managing a client portfolio.
• Leadership ability to develop and motivate teams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ambition to progress.
