Associate Director, Credit Risk, Direct Lending

About the role

Join Macquarie's Credit Risk team within the Risk Management Group to shape private credit investing across Europe. You will work closely with Macquarie Capital on direct lending transactions, providing independent insight that drives sound investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Macquarie Capital to assess, structure and oversee direct lending deals throughout their lifecycle.
• Analyse complex opportunities, evaluate credit risk and present clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Build trusted relationships across the business and contribute to the evolution of the team’s risk methodology.
• Provide leadership, coaching and people‑management support to junior team members.

Required profile

• 10+ years of credit risk experience, preferably in direct lending, private credit or leveraged finance.
• Strong expertise in financial analysis, credit assessment and reviewing transaction documentation.
• Proven experience leading, developing and mentoring high‑performance teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence senior colleagues.
• Proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused approach, capable of managing competing priorities.
