Associate Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Join a long‑established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Consultancy delivering high‑quality technical design across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, leisure, hotel and residential sectors. As an Associate Electrical Engineer you will take strategic and technical ownership of electrical design delivery on multiple projects while supporting business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design from concept through to completion across diverse sectors.
• Oversee and review designs, calculations, specifications and reports to ensure quality and compliance.
• Manage project delivery, including programme, resources and financial performance.
• Act as primary client contact, leading meetings and presentations.
• Support business development by maintaining client relationships and identifying new opportunities.
• Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers, contributing to team capability.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants and stakeholders for seamless delivery.
• Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, BS 7671 and industry best practice.

Required profile

• Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Extensive experience delivering electrical building services designs within a consultancy.
• Proven experience leading projects and managing multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong client‑management and business‑development experience.
