Associate Fire Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Fire Engineer to join a fast‑growing fire safety team within a UK‑built environment consultancy. The role will support projects across England and Wales, covering residential, mixed‑use, education and high‑risk buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Develop fire strategies and conduct fire risk assessments for a variety of building types.
• Perform PAS 9980 external wall assessments and compliance audits.
• Carry out fire engineering analysis, compartmentation surveys and design reviews.
• Provide expert witness support and construction fire safety advice.
• Assist with fire safety compliance under the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act and related regulations.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering or a fire‑related discipline (preferred).
• Chartered, Incorporated or equivalent professional status.
• Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation, guidance and standards.
• Experience working on residential, mixed‑use, education or high‑risk projects.
