Associate Flood Risk Consultant – Leeds (Hybrid)

About the role

An established and growing environmental consultancy is seeking an Associate Flood Risk Consultant for its Leeds team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced flood‑risk professional to progress their career while working on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, manage and review Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
• Provide flood‑risk and drainage advice for residential, commercial and infrastructure developments.
• Undertake and review hydraulic modelling and interpret the outputs.
• Develop sustainable drainage solutions and assess SuDS proposals.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities and the Environment Agency.
• Manage projects, programmes and budgets, and produce technical reports, proposals and fee submissions.
• Support business development and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in flood‑risk, drainage or water‑environment consultancy.
• Strong background in producing Flood Risk Assessments and drainage strategies.
• Good knowledge of UK flood‑risk policy, planning requirements and relevant guidance.
• Experience with hydraulic modelling and/or drainage design.
• Ability to manage projects and communicate confidently with clients and stakeholders.
• Relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or related discipline.
