Associate Lecturer Computing

About the role

FutureLearn is seeking an Associate Lecturer in Computing to join its Higher Education Services team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality online teaching in computing programmes, with particular expertise in Cyber Security and/or Artificial Intelligence.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prepare and deliver engaging teaching materials for assigned computing modules.
• Apply effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies aligned with institutional standards.
• Set, mark and provide timely, constructive feedback on assessments.
• Supervise student projects and dissertations, offering academic and research guidance in Cyber Security and/or AI.
• Monitor learner progress using analytics and intervene to support achievement.
• Identify individual learner needs and promote an inclusive, supportive online environment.
• Contribute to internal quality assurance, module planning and academic standards.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of computing subjects, especially Cyber Security and/or Artificial Intelligence.
• Experience designing and delivering online learning experiences.
• Ability to assess student work and provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching and learner support.
• Willingness to engage in quality‑assurance and curriculum development activities.
