Associate Paraplanner

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Paraplanner to join our fast‑growing wealth management team in Exeter. This is the first formal paraplanning position, providing structured support to Financial Planners and Senior Paraplanners while you develop your technical expertise on low‑risk and high‑net‑worth client cases.

Key responsibilities

• Manage low‑risk advice events such as plan top‑ups, withdrawals, income changes and investment risk adjustments.
• Investigate client financial circumstances, gather external data and draft suitability recommendations for incremental advice.
• Prepare cash‑flow models, update scenarios and perform basic calculations including CGT and pension allowances under senior guidance.
• Conduct first‑run analysis of Letter of Authority information and support senior paraplanners on complex client cases.
• Assist with case packaging, pre‑populate application forms and execute platform actions.
• Construct compliant advice files, populate back‑office systems and adhere to strict turnaround times.
• Contribute ideas to improve workflow, client journey and team culture.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of core financial planning concepts, including pensions, investments and protection products.
• High attention to detail with the ability to analyse and validate client data.
• Process discipline and capability to meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written communication for drafting formal documentation.
