About the role
Penguin Recruitment is supporting a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in hiring an experienced Associate Planning Consultant for their Bristol office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure, development and strategic planning projects alongside experts in engineering, environment and design.
Key responsibilities
- Act as Planning Lead on a range of projects across different markets and sectors.
- Lead and support the preparation of bids, tenders and framework submissions.
- Take responsibility for project management, delivery and client outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across planning, engineering, environmental and design disciplines.
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the planning team.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Identify and support new business and market growth opportunities.
- Contribute to a range of major infrastructure and development projects across the UK.
Required profile
- A relevant degree in Planning or a related discipline.
- RTPI membership or working towards membership.
- Strong experience within planning, ideally across infrastructure, development or strategic planning.
- Experience with the Environmental Impact Assessment process.
- Good knowledge of planning policy and strategic planning.
- Understanding of relevant planning and consenting processes, including TCPA, DCO and/or TWAO.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- The confidence to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Previous involvement in business development, bid preparation or work winning would be advantageous.
