Associate – Portfolio Strategy (Hybrid – London)

About the role

We are seeking an analytically‑minded Associate to join our Portfolio Strategy, Credit & Analytics team. Working at the intersection of structured finance, capital management and risk optimisation, you will support both Kensington Mortgages and Barclays on Residential Mortgage‑Backed Securities (RMBS) and Significant Risk Transfer (SRT) transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Build, maintain and enhance analytical tools and models for RMBS and SRT transactions, including cash‑flow models, asset calculators and sensitivity testing.
• Perform detailed collateral analysis using loan‑level mortgage data – portfolio stratifications, vintage/cohort analysis, arrears roll‑rate, default and pre‑payment analysis, loss severity assessments.
• Support transaction execution activities such as rating agency testing, internal/external presentations, audit sign‑offs and investor reporting.
• Deliver forecasting and cash‑flow analysis to inform transaction economics, hedging and business reporting.
• Monitor portfolio performance, comparing actual versus forecast outcomes for closed transactions.
• Participate in model governance – testing, validation and maintenance of audit‑ready documentation.
• Drive automation, controls and efficiency improvements through scripting and data‑processing solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Kensington Mortgages, Barclays, rating agencies, auditors and investors.
