Associate / Senior Associate – Employment Law

About the role

Birketts LLP is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its highly regarded Employment Team. You will work within a top‑tier UK law firm, providing expert advice to a diverse client base that includes public and private organisations, senior executives, and high‑profile businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on a wide range of employment matters, from grievances and disciplinaries to contractual issues.
• Draft and review service agreements, contracts of employment, staff handbooks and settlement agreements.
• Prepare and update employment policies covering performance management, sickness, misconduct, maternity and parental leave.
• Support the team’s in‑house training, immigration, employee incentives and HR consultancy services.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with solid experience in contentious and non‑contentious employment law.
• Proven ability to deliver clear, pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders.
• Strong drafting and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
