Associate / Senior Associate

About the role

Birketts LLP is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join its nationally‑ranked Employment Team in Norwich. You will work on a broad range of contentious and non‑contentious employment matters for public and private sector clients, contributing to the firm’s Next Level Law service offering.

Key responsibilities

• Handle general employment issues, including maternity rights and contractual matters.
• Draft service agreements, contracts of employment and staff handbooks.
• Prepare and review employment policies such as performance, sickness, misconduct procedures and parental leave schemes.
• Provide transactional corporate support related to employment matters.
• Advise on wrongful and unfair dismissal, redundancy, restructuring and TUPE transfers.
• Assist with boardroom disputes, severance claims and employment litigation.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or equivalent with experience in employment law.
• Strong analytical and drafting abilities.
• Ability to manage a diverse client portfolio and work collaboratively within a team.
