Associate Software Engineer

About the role

Matillion is looking for an enthusiastic Associate Software Engineer to join its AI‑driven data automation platform, Maia. You will start contributing from day one, writing production‑ready code and collaborating with a fast‑moving engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clean, tested, production‑ready code across the Maia platform.
• Participate in agile ceremonies – sprints, stand‑ups, code reviews, and deliveries.
• Tackle technical challenges that directly affect customers’ data workflows.
• Leverage AI tools in research, development, and productivity tasks.
• Learn from senior engineers while sharing your own fresh perspective.

Required profile

• A solid foundation in software engineering obtained through a degree, bootcamp, or self‑study.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java.
• Genuine curiosity about AI and experience experimenting with AI‑enhanced workflows.
• Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and grow quickly.
