Associate Solicitor – Property Litigation (South East)

About the role

Brandon James Ltd, an award‑winning law firm, is expanding its Property Litigation team in the South East. The Associate Solicitor will work on a varied and complex portfolio of commercial and residential property disputes, supporting senior colleagues while managing an independent caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Manage contentious commercial and residential property matters from inception to resolution.
• Advise clients on landlord‑tenant disputes, lease renewals, dilapidations and breaches of covenant.
• Handle rent review, rent arrears, service‑charge, forfeiture, break notice and vacant‑possession issues.
• Conduct business‑rates appeals and related property matters.
• Resolve real‑property disputes such as restrictive covenants, adverse possession, boundary and rights‑of‑way matters.
• Assist with rights‑to‑light, telecoms and development‑related disputes.
• Deal with construction‑related property disputes, overage agreements and insolvency‑related property matters.
• Maintain accurate file management, billing and time‑recording systems.
• Deliver work within agreed budgets and timescales.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with 2‑5 years post‑qualification experience.
• Demonstrable experience in Property Litigation or a strong litigation background with exposure to property disputes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with partners and senior associates.
